Overview
Loras College and Greater Dubuque Development Corporation are pleased to announce the 2013 Data into Action Innovation Award. This program is designed to identify and honor companies and individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the field of business analytics. Analytics is a rapidly growing industry that combines processes, technologies and leadership skills using data to improve decision making and business outcomes.
The 2013 Winner will be chosen by a panel of independent judges comprised of faculty and students from Loras College, executives from Greater Dubuque Development Corporation and industry experts from CapGemini and Oracle Corporation. Judges select winners from written applications and, if needed, follow-up interviews. They score entries on business value, innovation, impact and relevance to the other organizations.

Judging Criteria
1. Impact.
What were the tangible results for your organization?
2. Scope.
What was the scale of this analytic initiative? Departmental? Divisional? Enterprise-wide?
3. Maturity.
How well has this concept been adopted in your organization?
4. Insights.
How have the insights from your initiative impacted management decisions?
5. Innovation.
How was the solution innovative? Did it drive a new level of excellence?
Applicant Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants are any private or public company, government agency, or non-profit organization, which has implemented an analytic system to enhance organizational decision making or operations. Applicants may nominate themselves for this award, or their solution vendor may nominate them. If you are a solution vendor, you may only nominate yourself if you are submitting an internal implementation that involves more than implementing your own product. Otherwise, you should be listed as a solution sponsor.
Tips for Successful Application
Applications that have a high chance of winning will describe tangible economic, social or environmental impact, especially if expressed in financial returns to the organization.
Applications will have a minimal chance of winning when they emphasize a sponsors product as a key attribute of success
Answer to the application questions should be succinct, well-constructed, comprehensive and logical, with enough detail to adequately describe the project.
Limit the number of attachments you submit with your application to only those that clearly illustrate a major point.
