Loras College announced in May that Jenna Ness
has been selected to lead the volleyball program. Ness is Loras' 12th head coach in program history and replaces Teresa Kehe, who logged 149 wins over eight seasons and is headed back to the high school level.
"Jenna displays both tremendous enthusiasm for volleyball and has an impressive knowledge of the game," director of athletics Bob Quinn
(’86) said. "She is also clearly in support of what it means to be a NCAA Division III athlete and coach and is fully in line with what we stand for in terms of the mission of our College. I believe we'll have a smooth transition into the 2013 season."
Ness completed her master's degree in organizational leadership at St. Ambrose this spring and earned her undergraduate degree in business management and exercise science from Luther College in January 2011. Her most recent volleyball coaching positions have been with St. Mary University in Winona, Minn., St. Ambrose University in Davenport and her alma mater Luther College. She is a native of Urbandale, Iowa.
"I am extremely excited about becoming a Duhawk," Ness proclaimed.
"After meeting with administration, the players and members of the athletic department staff, I knew Loras College was the perfect fit for me. Seeing the potential the Duhawk volleyball program has, I am excited to continue to build on and further enhance the tradition of excellence here at Loras College."
