Computer and Information Technology

Loras offers two different tracks within the Computing and Information Technology Major; CIT-Management track within the Division of Business Administration and  CIT-Science Track.within the Division of Mathematics, Engineering and Computer Science

Mathematics requirements depend upon the chosen track within the major. Students must choose one of the tracks before their junior year. Distinctive nature of the Management Information Systems major at Loras (i.e., experiential elements, student research opportunities, service learning,  student activities and projects, etc.)

• All Information technology majors take a common core of classes in addition to required courses for their specific major.  This core allows them to broaden their business knowledge, while the required MIS courses help to sharpen their technical skills and abilities.
• Large internship program offers many local, regional, national, and international opportunities during the traditional academic year as well as summers.  The majority of our majors gain “real-world” experience before graduating from Loras.
