Alternative Financing Options

You are not required to utilize any of the options listed below, however families are strongly encouraged to thoroughly research alternative financing options and know all terms and conditions of a loan before making an application. Listed below are some suggested lender options, due to a consistent effort to provide students with the best service and benefits possible. Please be advised you are not limited to these options nor is the list all inclusive. 

  • Student Lending Analytics (SLA)
    SLA allows you to outsource your lender selection process. Their Student Lending Analytics 2008 Guide to Alternative Loans is intended to provide students and their parents with the tools they need to make the best decision in evaluating alternative loan options.

  • Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS)
    Available to parents (without an adverse credit history) of dependent undergraduate students. Parents may borrow the difference between the student's cost of education less the amount of financial assistance the student receives. The current fixed interest rate is 8.5%. All PLUS loan applications should be returned to the Office of Financial Planning for certification.

  • CitiAssist Loan
    Ci    tibank offers students a loan for educational expenses. Application and approval can be made online at www.studentloan.com.

  • Sallie Mae
    Sallie Mae offers students a loan for educational expenses.  Application and approval can be made online at www.salliemae.com.

  • US Bank
    US Bank offers students two loan options for educational expenses.  Application and approval can be made online at www.usbank.com/supploans.

  • Wells Fargo Collegiate Loan
    Provides students and parents with loans through Wells Fargo. Application can be made online at wfefs.wellsfargo.com/jump/loras.html. Credit decisions can be determined by web or by phone at 800-658-3567.
