Loras College Transfer Scholarships & Grants

Loras College offers renewable tuition awards for qualified, incoming, full-time (12 credits or more) transfer students.  Awards will be based on a cumulative college Grade Point Average (on a 4.0 scale).  Transfer students must graduate from high school prior to May ‘10 and have at least 12 transferable credits to be considered for the transfer tuition awards.

Loras Merit Awards                                      $3,000 - $12,000 per year
Based upon transfer grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Loras Grant                                                     Amount Varies
Based on financial need and total of other Loras College scholarships and grants awarded.  Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Catholic High School Grant                           $1,000 per year
Available to incoming full-time students who graduate from a Catholic High School.

Legacy Grant                                                   $1,000 per year
Available to incoming full-time students that meet at least one of the following:  sibling who currently attends or has graduated from Loras College, parent or grandparent who is an alumnus of Loras College (minimum 30 hours completed)

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship                       $1,000 per year
Minimum 3.5 transfer GPA and 30 transferable credit hours are required.  Students must enroll at Loras College full-time immediately following a minimum of one year, full-time attendance at a community college.  Students must apply and be accepted for admission to Loras with a proof of membership.  Non- US citizens, students with previous bachelor degrees, and part-time students are not eligible.  Students must file the FAFSA annually. 

To ensure full consideration for scholarships and grants, students must be applied, accepted and have all current transcripts and test scores sent to Loras College by June 1, 2010.
