2011 SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS
Loras Merit Awards
A combination of GPA and ACT/SAT score are considered in determining the scholarship amount.
• On-Campus Student $4,000 to $18,000 per year
• Commuter Student $3,000 to $15,000 per year
Breitbach Catholic Thinkers and Leaders $17,000 per year
This scholarship is awarded to selected applicants. Application materials and essay are due December 15, 2011. You may send or email your 1000 word essay describing your faith development and how you hope to live a life of faith and leadership; and a detailed list of your activities and involvements while in high school. You will also need to send two letters of reference from two non-family members who can speak to your faith development and leadership qualities. Selected students will be invited to Breitbach Scholarship Days January 21-22, 2012. Students will be notified of interview after December 22, 2011. Recipients will be interviewed on one of the Breitbach Scholarship Days. Recipients of the award will be notified January 27, 2012.

Students awarded the Breitbach scholarship are not eligible to receive a Loras Merit Award.
Pope John Paul II Memorial Scholarship
One (1) $5,000 and Three (3) $2,000 scholarships awarded. Please contact the Office of Admission to receive an application packet.
Music Scholarship Amount Varies
Awarded based on audition and open to all majors. Students must be accepted prior to their audition and must participate in at least one performance group as a Loras College student. Auditions will be held in the spring. Music Performance Scholarship Audition Application
Honors Scholarship $1,000 per year
Awarded to 25 students each year. Renewable for three years. Please apply at www.loras.edu/honors.
National Alumni Board Scholarship $3,000 per year
Awarded to a selected student each year. Renewable for three years. Please contact the Office of Admission to apply.
Loras Grant Amount Varies
Based on financial need and total of other Loras College scholarships and grants awarded. Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Transfer Student Scholarships and Grants are available at /admissions/lorasscholarships.asp
To ensure full consideration for scholarships and grants, students must be applied, accepted and have all current transcripts and test scores sent to Loras College by February 1, 2012. Scholarships may be renewable, see Financial Planning Office for details. Full time enrollment and satisfactory progress required.
