Five Priests Ordained; Father Kevin Earleywine Delivers First Mass at CTK

Father Kevin Earleywine with this family at his first Mass, Saturday, May 27, at Christ the King Chapel on the Loras College campus.

Fr. Kevin Earleywine (’12) was one of five men that were ordained into the priesthood on Saturday, May 27th.  He celebrated his first mass that afternoon at 5:00 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel at Loras.

Fr. Kevin is a 2012 Loras graduate, hailing from Brodhead, Wisconsin.  He was part of the Brietbach Catholic Thinkers and Leaders program and very active in Spiritual Life while he was a student.  He was especially influenced by attending service trips.

After graduation from Loras, Kevin entered the seminary program at Mundelein, Illinois for the Archdiocese of Dubuque, left the seminary in 2014 to explore intentional work with the poor, and then joined the Franciscan of the Eucharist community at The Mission of Our Lady of the Angels in September of 2014.  Kevin returned to the seminary program in the Dubuque Archdiocese in February of 2015.  He did a six-month pastoral internship with St. John XXIII in Cedar Rapids, Iowa until returning to Mundelein in the fall of 2015.  Fr. Kevin has a deep love for the poor and this was beautifully expressed in his homily at his first mass.  The large attendance at this mass was a statement to how loved and respected he is.

Fr. Kevin has received his first assignment.  He will be an associate pastor at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Iowa Falls, Iowa.  He will be doing some Hispanic Ministry there as well.

Other Loras graduates ordained last weekend were: Andrew Marr (’12), who has been assigned to Church of the Resurrection, Dubuque, Austin Wilker (’13), who will go to Epiphany Parish (St. Joseph and Holy Family) in Mason City, Iowa and Sacred Heart in Manly, Iowa, Dennis Conway (’12), who will be at St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, Iowa and Ralph Davis (’13), assigned to St. Columbkille and St. Joseph the Worker in Dubuque.
