LORAS COLLEGE PRESIDENT JIM COLLINS ELECTED VICE-CHAIR OF THE ASSOCIATION OF CATHOLIC COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES

Screenshot 2015-10-20 09.12.31Loras College President Jim Collins (’84) just returned from the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU) annual conference held in Washington, D.C., where he was elected by the ACCU Board of Directors to serve as the association’s vice chair. Loyola University (IL) President, Fr. Michael Garanzini, will continue to serve as chair.

“Serving on the ACCU Board of Directors has been, and continues to be, one of the most rewarding and enjoyable professional roles I have ever experienced. It is an honor to serve and humbling to receive the support of my colleagues who share the same deep commitment to Catholic higher education,” said Collins.Collins served as ACCU secretary/treasurer and member of the Executive Committee during the past year. The ACCU Board of Directors is comprised of 16 U.S. Catholic college presidents and one college president from Canada.

Founded in 1899, the ACCU serves as the collective voice of U.S. Catholic higher education which represents over 200 member institutions. Through programs and services, the Association strengthens and promotes the Catholic identity and mission of its member institutions so that all associated with Catholic higher education can contribute to the greater good of the world and the Church.
