Loras College receives anonymous $425,000 bequest for scholarships

DUBUQUE, Iowa— Loras College President Jim Collins (’84) announced today that the College has received an anonymous $425,000 estate bequest toward the Inspiring Lives & Leadership campaign from the estate of a local community member. The generous estate gift is being used to fund student scholarship awards for the 2015-2016 academic year.

“Generous and selfless individuals are at the core of Loras’ mission. This individual who provided this estate gift is one such person. Loras will never forget his generosity and the impact it will have on countless students,” said Collins.

Launched on October 10, 2013, the Loras College $100-million Inspiring Lives & Leadership campaign is the largest fundraising campaign in the 176-year history of the College. In addition to raising funds to support student aid and faculty/staff professional development, the campaign seeks funds to build upon the launch of its MBA program, business analytics initiative and other academic programs. As of October 31, 2015 the campaign has raised $80.3 million through nearly 19,100 donors. For more information, please visit loras.edu/giving.
