Career Services

Resources to help students prepare, plan and carry out their career goals.

Search jobs posted at Loras College offers employers the opportunity to post full and part-time positions; and source resumes of Loras student and alumni job seekers. Students/Alumni can set search engines to identify internships and jobs; listen to podcasts covering all facets of the career exploration, job search and graduate school application processes; and download source materials for creating a resume and cover letter.

The Experiencial Learning Career Services staff help students understand their career-related interests, preferences, strengths and values as to facilitate exploration and decision-making related to selection of a job, profession, career and vocation. Students are supported in networking with various organizations and alumni; while attending workshops on resume writing, interview skills, LinkedIn profile development, and job search strategies. Many students have found internships and jobs from the career fairs, networking, and special events i.e. Mock Interview Days.

The outcomes are impressive. Research conducted on the post-baccalaureate destinations of the Classes of 2014- 20 where reliable information was obtained for 98.6% of the target groups, 97.4% of the graduates reported being employed and/or continuing their education. Of the 84.5% indicating employment, 80.4% were in a professional capacity (requiring a baccalaureate degree) and 83.1% were in industries or positions related to their majors.

I am so grateful for Loras having such a wonderful CEL office. Thanks to everyone there, I attended a networking event – which led to a full-time position after graduation!
