How to Register for Summer Courses
Current Loras College Students
If you are a current Loras College degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student with self-registration rights, you may register for summer classes and make schedule changes through the online IQ system on or after the date noted on the academic calendar. Students without self-registration rights should contact their advisor or the Office of the Registrar at 563-588-7779.
Non-Loras Students Seeking Summer Coursework
Undergraduate Students:
Students who are not pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Loras College but would like to enroll in summer courses are considered special students. This status includes:

- those who have not earned a bachelor’s degree who wish to take courses for personal enrichment;
- those who regularly attend another college or university and wish to earn credit for transfer back to the home institution;
- those who have received a bachelor’s degree and wish to earn additional undergraduate credit.
To apply for summer courses, please submit our Special Course Application along with your transcripts to the Loras College Office of the Registrar at registrar@loras.edu.

Graduate Students:
Graduate students who would like to take a summer course at Loras should complete our free online application and select “Graduate Application” as the Application Type. In the Student Profile section within the application itself, select "Graduate: professional education program" as the Student Type. Please email unofficial copies of transcripts from each institution attended to megan.henderson@loras.edu. You will be contacted via email with information about the course registration.

Additional Information
- Summer Course Load
Due to the intense nature of summer courses, students are encouraged to register for no more than one class per session.
- Grades
If tuition is paid in full, final grades will be emailed to the student’s Loras College email address as soon as grades are submitted.
- Transcripts
Transcripts may be requested online from The National Student Clearinghouse.
- Transfer Credit
Special Students - If you wish to transfer Loras College academic credit you should obtain approval from your home institution prior to your summer registration. Loras College cannot approve the transferability of courses to other academic institutions. You must request a transcript to have grades sent to your home institution.
- Financial Assistance
Students applying for summer financial aid must be admitted to Loras College as a degree-seeking student, complete your 2021-2022 Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) and contact the Loras Financial Planning office.

It is important to note that summer enrollment is considered a header to the 2022-2023 academic year and summer aid will affect your overall federal financial aid eligibility. Summer assistance is only available in the form of federal grants and/or loans. Schedule a meeting with the Financial Planning Office to discuss aid eligibility.
