To Register For Summer Courses:

Current Loras Students

If you are a current Loras College degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student with self-registration rights, you may register for summer classes and make schedule changes through the online IQ system on or after the date noted on the academic calendar. Students without self-registration rights should contact his/her advisor or the Office of the Registrar at 563-588-7779.

 

Non-Loras Students Seeking Summer Coursework

  • Undergraduate Students:
    Students who are not pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Loras College but would like to enroll in summer courses are considered special students. This status includes:

    1. those who have not earned a bachelor’s degree who wish to take courses for personal enrichment;
    2. those who regularly attend another college or university and wish to earn credit for transfer back to the home institution;
    3. those who have received a bachelor’s degree and wish to earn additional undergraduate credit.

    If a student falls into the "special" criteria, they must print and complete the Special Student PDF application and submit the required materials noted within the application to the Office of the Registrar. Please direct any questions to registrar@loras.edu. 

 

  • Graduate Students:
    Graduate students who would like to take a summer course at Loras should complete the free online application at loras.edu/apply and select “Graduate Non-Degree or Licensure Student” as the Admit Type. Email unofficial copies of transcripts from each institution attended to Megan Henderson, Director of Admission for Graduate and Postbaccalaureate Programs (megan.henderson@loras.edu). You will then be contacted via email with information about the course registration.

    • Additional Online Consortium ADDITIONAL ONLINE CONSORTIUM COURSES
      Summer 2021 Loras College Pre-approved Online Consortium Courses are available in addition to the Loras based summer online courses. Preview these additional courses at loras.edu/academics/ciccourses.
    • Summer Course Load
      Due to the intense nature of summer courses, students are encouraged to register for no more than one class per session.
    • Grades
      If tuition is paid in full, final grades will be emailed to the student’s Loras College email address as soon as grades are submitted.
    • Transfer Credit
      Special Students - If you wish to transfer Loras College academic credit you should obtain approval from your home institution prior to your summer registration. Loras College cannot approve the transferability of courses to other academic institutions. You must request a transcript to have grades sent to your home institution.
    • Financial Assistance
      Students applying for summer financial aid must be admitted to Loras College as a degree-seeking student, complete your 2021-2022 Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) and contact the Loras Financial Planning office.

      It is important to note that summer enrollment is considered a header to the 2021-2022 academic year and summer aid will affect your overall federal financial aid eligibility. Summer assistance is only available in the form of federal grants and/or loans. You should schedule a meeting with member of the Financial Planning Office to discuss your aid eligibility.     • Housing
      Summer housing will not be offered. All courses capable of doing so will be offered online.
      • Tuition & Fees
        Visit our Tuition & Fees page for details related to undergraduate and graduate.
      • Payment Policy
        All tuition and fees are due and payable on or before the first day of the session.
        • Books
          Textbooks are available from the Loras College Barnes and Noble Bookstore www.loras.bncollege.com. Shipping is free.
        • Technology Center Information
          The Loras College Technology Center Help Desk is located in the lower level of Christ the King Chapel, 563.588.4949. Our Help Desk hours during the summer are: Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30 pm.
        • Miller Academic Resource Center
          The Loras Library offers an extensive array of resources for students. For additional information including hours of operation visit Loras College library or call 563.588.7189.
