In-Person Beginning Fall 2021

Fall 2021

Loras College will begin the 2021-22 academic year with in-person campus operations. This decision was made based on the understanding that the COVID-19 vaccine will be widely available throughout the summer months.

While the College may still require mask wearing and social distancing under certain circumstances, the campus community has demonstrated strong compliance with the pandemic measures put into place during the current academic year. We are confident in the campus’ continued ability to navigate the pandemic’s challenges, especially since we are strongly encouraging our students and colleagues to be vaccinated upon availability.

Social distancing in academic spaces will follow CDC guidelines, which are currently a minimum of 6 feet of social distancing. Should those guidelines change for the population 18 years of age and older, we will adjust accordingly. Students will continue to have the benefit of a favorable faculty-to-student ratio that provides plenty of engagement with Loras faculty.

On campus, masks continue to be required in all public areas and in areas where 6 feet social distance is not possible (including public restrooms).  The City of Dubuque and Dubuque County also have mask requirements in place at this time.

As new information becomes available and/or as the pandemic’s impact changes, Loras will modify its approach going forward as appropriate.
