Course Highlights

Field Production

This course provides students with a hands-on opportunity to create their own productions. In particular, students will learn concept development, cinematography, audio sweetening, lighting technique and digital post-production editing skills. Each student will produce and direct dramatic narratives, commercials and documentary productions in real-world situations.

Sports Media

If you love sports, this course is a must! Students will learn to tell compelling sports stories by putting you on the field, in the booth and right in the middle of the action. Students will shoot and edit sports features and recaps, produce live game broadcasts, master game action photography, and share social media and print stories.

Global Filmmaking

This unique course takes students on a creative filmmaking journey se to international and domestic locations. As a production team, students will engage in all elements of the production process, including research, writing, cinematography, editing, and distribution. The location, genre, and film style of each production varies with your interest but often includes narrative filmmaking, travel genre production or documentary film. If you want to travel and create, this is your course!

Loras Creative Media students are out in the community, even going around the world, to find and tell inspiring stories in an ethical fashion as we entertain, educate, and influence audiences with our content.     Constructing a Story

    Jonathan Quinn (’21) knows the importance of constructing a story. As he works on creating his own life story, his education and training at Loras have helped him tell the stories of others through a reflective and forward-thinking lens. At age 23, he already has “award-winning director” on his resume and that is just the start.
