DuNewsPurpleLoras College is pleased to announce Joseph Schiesl (’74) has been elected to the Board of Regents. The Loras College Board of Regents is the governing body responsible for determining the broad policies under which the College operates. As a board member, Schiesl will serve as a custodian of all assets, assist in determining the educational aims, vision, and mission of the College, and ensure the institution fulfills its educational purpose.

“Joe Schiesl is a talented and gifted business executive. He brings strong health care and analytics expertise to our board. Both of these topics are strategic drivers for Loras as we move to the future. We look forward to drawing upon his experience and are grateful for his willingness to serve his alma mater,” said Loras College President Jim Collins (’84).

Schiesl is a managing director at TripleTree, an independent Minneapolis-based investment banking firm focused on mergers and acquisitions, financial restructuring and principal investment services for innovative, high growth business in the healthcare industry. Prior to TripleTree, Joe was a senior executive at Universal Hospital Services, where he implemented and led new growth strategies as a member of the executive management team that increased the value of the company by more than 50 percent.

Schiesel has previously served as president of ValueRx Pharmacy Benefit Management Services, president of Managed Care Services at Diversified Pharmaceutical Systems and has led executive teams at large public and private companies as well as smaller, emerging firms. Schiesel graduated from Loras College in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He currently resides in Prior Lake, Minnesota with his wife, Deb.
