Kendall Griffin (‘94), has just recently been appointed as the new Athletic Director at Saint Ignatius College Prep in Chicago, Illinois. Griffin had a good friend of his tell him that the position was open and asked if he would be interested in applying. Griffin then made a few phone calls about the job to decide if the job would be a good fit, and after hearing good things about the job and school, he decided to apply.
For Griffin, Loras has proved to be a great stepping stone for his career.
“My Loras College experience and education have prepared me extremely well for the opportunities I’ve had in my career,” he said. “I received and earned an excellent education while at Loras, but to be honest, the connections, personal friendships and relationships I forged while there, have been instrumental in my professional career.”
Griffin has been grateful for the opportunities that Loras has provided for him and stayed connected with the college in various capacities.
“I’ve always tried to stay connected with Loras College and the friends I made there. I’ve returned for countless events… homecoming, football games, both home and away, being part of the Loras College Alumni Board and returning to take part in the Loras College Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. I love staying connected to Loras College and always will be a proud Duhawk,” Griffin said.
For the past year, Griffin has been dean of students at Glenbard East High School in Chicago. As he takes the next steps in his career, Griffin will be looking to provide a supportive platform for the many people he will be working with.
“I’m looking forward to getting back into athletics and being around the coaches, athletes, and athletic contests,” Griffin said. “I’ve learned so much from my time as a high school and collegiate athlete, coach, and athletic director at Nile West, that I truly believe I can help others achieve their goals.”
