The Loras community is invited to attend business-focused presentations during the eighth annual Business Week, which is currently underway. This week is geared to help connect students to business professionals to help them start their network and careers. This year will include two presentations from professionals with extensive business experience.
On Monday, May 1st, Arthur F. Gilloon kicked off the week with his program, FINDING SUCCESS WITHOUT LOOKING, drawing upon 38+ years in the law profession, to help students transition to the working world after college. Arthur F. Gilloon is a senior partner in the Dubuque, Iowa law firm of Gilloon, Wright & Hamel, P.C. He is licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts in Iowa, the state courts of Wisconsin, the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. His general law practice includes litigation, employment law, business law, and discrimination/civil rights law. Mr. Gilloon is a 1975 honors graduate of University of Notre Dame and a 1978 graduate of the University Of Iowa College Of Law. He has served on multiple boards throughout Dubuque as well as served as a religious education teacher and basketball coach at the YMCA.
Business Week will conclude on Thursday, May 4th with a keynote address from Tracy (Travis) Bauer (’96). Ms. Bauer is the President/CEO of Midwest Medical Center in Galena, IL. She received her master’s degree in Hospital and Health Care Facilities Administration/Management from Ohio University, and has a BA in accounting from Loras College. She began her public accounting career with Eide Bailly in Dubuque and has been the CEO of Midwest Medical Center since 2011 when she was promoted from the COO/CFO position, in which she served since 2000. Under her leadership, the organization has continued to improve operations and gain community support. Ms. Bauer is also the President-Elect for the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network. Ms. Bauer’s keynote address will take place at 6:00 p.m. on the third floor of the Academic Resource Center.
