Financial Planning author Erin Lowry will headline the Financial Planning networking event on campus on Thursday, March 21. The event is part of our Financial Planning & Wealth Management program and sponsored by the Loras College FPA Student Chapter.
Lowry is the author of “Broke Millennial: Getting Your Financial Life Together” and speaks across the country providing advice to millennials on navigating money issues. She has made numerous televisions appearances, including on CNBC, Fox News, and CBS News Sunday Morning.
“Through Broke Millennial, our Loras personal finance students have been introduced to Erin Lowry,” Brian Kallback (’02), assistant professor of finance, said. “We are excited to bring Erin to Dubuque as she discusses getting financially ‘naked’ with your partner. Erin will speak to tips and tricks to introduce money into the dating and marriage conversation.”
Lowry is not the only speaker scheduled for the event. She will be preceded by Dr. Sara Cassella, assistant professor of neuroscience at Loras College, and Amy Manternach, vice president of finance and philanthropy at the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque.
Kallback explained, “In addition to Erin, we are excited about Dr. Sarah Cassella’s presentation on not letting stress stress us out. It will be helpful to hear how our body responds to stress, as we know it can impact short and long health. Finally, Amy Manternach will share how the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque serves our community through charitable giving and community engagement.”
The event will be held at the Bill (A ’52) & JoAnne Miller Academic Resource Center 3rd Floor from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. The event is free to attend. All three sessions are available for CFP® credit (3 total) and ASPPA credit. Registration for continuing education is $45.
