Plans for the program, initiated by Vince Mazza (’91), a member of the National Alumni Board (NAB), began in earnest earlier this year and was initially launched through the Loras College Alumni Linkedin Group. The program now has 10 mentors and 10 mentees for its pilot start.
The program’s mission: Make careers more rewarding and successful not only for current Loras students and recent graduates, but also alumni. To make the most of their first discussions with mentees, Peter Streit (’77) also a member of NAB, held two Mentor Kickoff sessions.
The online meetings covered what it means to be a mentor, how Loras will measure the program’s success, tips for working with their mentee, and an action plan that included arranging face-to-face meeting with mentees during Homecoming (October 6-8) and providing feedback by mid-October.
Thank you to our alumni for their continued commitment to Loras and future Duhawks!
