An exciting change is on the horizon for the Loras collegiate tennis program. A capital campaign has launched to support the Duhawk men’s and women’s tennis teams. This initiative is the largest fundraising effort in the history of the program and will significantly impact and improve Loras home facilities.
This $250,000 campaign is geared exclusively to the on-campus courts used by both teams and will help build and shape the tennis program of today and tomorrow. Renovations will include five new double courts, with a state of the art playing surface, updated netting, storage and lights.
With construction already underway, and if all funding is secured, our hope is to have our tennis teams competing on the new courts for the 2017-18 seasons! In addition to giving us the ability to competitively recruit top student-athletes, the new courts will improve the experience of players, coaches and fans, allow Loras a college-level facility for hosting tournaments and provide new opportunities for our summer All-Sports Camp program.
To date, we have raised more than $163,000 toward our $250,000 goal. Most notably, Bob and Judy Tucker have generously agreed to match dollar for dollar every gift to renovate the courts made through May 31, 2017, up to $100,000! With your support, we will not only meet, but EXCEED, our goal. We invite you to consider being part of the legacy that is Loras tennis. If you would like to make a special gift to take advantage of the Tuckers’ generous match, please visit the tennis court renovations campaign or call Cayla Schneider at 563.588.7328 or email Cayla.Schneider@loras.edu.
