The Loras tennis teams were thrilled to begin the 2017 season in the newly remodeled tennis courts. The Bob & Judy Tucker All-Sports Camp Tennis Complex hosted its first game on Sept. 3 with wins against Aurora University and Illinois College.
We are grateful to all the donors who made the new courts a reality, especially Bob & Judy Tucker. Their enthusiasm for this project encouraged others to participate in the fundraising efforts. A celebration and dedication of the courts will take place today, Sept. 8, with President Jim Collins (’84) and Director of Athletics, Denise Udelhofen (’90) providing remarks, with Fr. Doug Wathier (’78) offering the court blessing.
The renovated courts are impacting many areas of the Loras Tennis program. Head men’s and women’s tennis coach, Chad Fenwick states “The team is really excited about the courts. You can see the pride they have in the opportunity to train and compete in such a nice facility. In addition, this new facility should help attract future Duhawks.”
Senior player, Rachael Molidor (’18) added, “I’m so excited to end my college career on such beautiful courts. I am so grateful for all of the hard work and dedication that went in to putting them together. I’m so proud to be able to represent Loras College tennis on this new facility.”
We are grateful for the generous support of those donors who made the new tennis courts a source of pride for Duhawk Athletics.
