Brenda Gomez Solis (’19) is quickly making an impression since graduating from Loras. The recent graduate has been named one of the 34 Most Powerful Latinos in Wisconsin according to Madison 365.

Solis is the first-ever Hispanic Outreach Specialist at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. The university’s new Hispanic Outreach Program builds on current pre-college services and enhances outreach activities to build a trusted relationship and on-going community dialogue between UW-Platteville and the Southwest Wisconsin Hispanic communities.

“I would not be where I am today without the unconditional support that my Loras family gave me,” Solis said. “The opportunities I was able to take advantage of while being a student at Loras are definitely ones I will treasure forever and the experience and relationships I built there are honestly the best I could have ever come across.”

Solis was previously working as the pre-college coordinator for the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs at UW-Platteville before transitioning into her current role.

According to Madison 365, this list is meant to introduce readers “to some people you’ve never heard of who are doing great things in other parts of the state or simply working behind the scenes, doing the work without the accolades.”
