At Loras, you're not just a number. We seek to evaluate students' potential, not simply as a collection of test scores or averages.

Our admission process was developed to help us assess your preparedness for the academic workload at Loras College. For students not yet ready for college-level work, we want to connect you with the supports, resources, and alternative options you need to help strengthen your ability to thrive at Loras.

Our analysis of first year college students has shown that cumulative high school GPA is the strongest predictor of college success. We are excited to share our holistic approach to the admission process and, based on your GPA, your path to admission could be Test Optional.

Our admission criteria is based on a student’s cumulative, weighted GPA on a 4.0 scale.  GPA’s submitted on a different scale will be converted accordingly. Based on your GPA, your admission criteria will vary:

GPA 3.0+

If your GPA is 3.0 or higher, you will automatically be admitted to Loras College and will not be required to take the ACT or SAT.
